We bought two of these backpacks for our 10 day summer trip to Europe this year. The pack itself is a bit heavy when empty, but that's because it has a mesh to prevent cuts, so I think it's worth it. The quality is very good and quite extensive. I LOVE the style and look of this backpack. It was easy to carry around and I didn't feel hot or heavy. We're taking plenty of water and snacks for our family, so we're starting with a full load. Unzipping the zippers was tricky at first but honestly after doing it a few times it got a lot easier. When we entered security in Europe, it took a little while to unzip all the zips because going through security feels like a hurry. But that didn't deter me from rating this backpack lower. The safety features far outweigh any shortcomings we found along the way.
