These are very durable waterproof winter boots. They're a lot lighter than they look and have a soft fleece interior. They are elastic and the velcro is strong and holds them well. In terms of size and fit, they are not very forgiving. They're stiff and don't really flex at the balls of your feet, so they're a little clunky. My daughter is going up to a size 11 but can still comfortably carry all of her 10's. Your fingers touch their ends and they are uncomfortable. I would say go up in size if you are on the size top. It will definitely outlast several children.
