I don't often give five star product reviews and you can read my review criteria below to understand how I arrive at my reviews. As I grew my beard, I realized I needed a good beard oil to keep it healthy. I originally used another brand which was good but thought there could be something better and tried another brand. I was very disappointed and was planning to go back to my original brand but came across Benjamin Bernard and decided to give it a try. It was the best decision I've made for my beard! Let's talk about the bottle first. This is a pump, not a standard pipette, and I didn't even realize it when I bought it. This makes dosing a lot easier and a lot less messy. It even eliminates the risk of tipping the bottle over and spilling oil, which I've done before. Now let's talk about oil. I have a medium sized beard that grows in many directions under my chin and on my neck and it's a real pain. A good beard oil is key to any good beard, but especially if your beard hair is very coarse and seems to think for itself as it grows. Benjamin Beard Oil tamed it right after the first use and got even better with continued use. It has a mild fragrance and based on the results I can tell that they use high quality ingredients. I usually use the oil every day but sometimes I skip a day and even then I can say the oil still works. I would recommend this beard oil to a friend. Four stars because I rarely buy anything below four stars. I then add and/or subtract stars based on certain criteria listed below.1. When an item meets my expectations and no more, it gets four stars2. If the product exceeds my expectations, it gets one star (5 stars)3. If an item doesn't meet my expectations, it loses one star (3 stars)4. If the directions for a product (if required) are poorly written (difficult to understand due to language or grammar issues) or just too difficult to follow, she loses a star if the product meets or exceeds my expectations5. If the product is significantly below my expectations, I deduct two stars6. I rarely give a product one star because I mostly buy products rated 4+, but on rare occasions there can be a good reason why even a four star product gets a one star rating from me. This may be due to customer service issues on the part of the company, but I will definitely explain clearly why I am giving the product only one star.
