Review on πŸ§— Sterling Rope Hollow Block Loop 6.8mm - Enhanced for SEO by Steven Brouillard

Not absolutely necessary, but works great!

This product works exactly as described. I use it as a friction clutch for reverse descents. I climb 2-3 days a week and have been using the Hollow Block Loop for about 2 months. I use it every time I go down the rope and as long as it lasts; seems to be tenable. I usually descend on a double rope with a thickness of 9.2-10.2 mm. It bites rope strands well. My descender is attached to my personal anchor system by my belay loop. The large-sized hollow block has a sufficient length. I think a short size would be too short for an extended release (and vice versa, a long size would be too long for a short set), but it's probably fine if your device connects directly to your belay loop. I only gave HB 4 stars because while it's good, it's not a complete game changer. I would have no problem using 6mm cord as a friction clutch again. I don't think I would see much of a difference between this and HB. But the hollow block does what it says on the tin, and does it well enough.
