Review on Nobsound Little Bear Turntable Pre Amplifier Home Audio by Megan Lewis

This is my first experience with preamps, let alone tube preamps, but I am completely satisfied with the look and sound of this little unit. It looks pretty with glow-in-the-dark tubes and is easy to set up. It also includes a ground wire with alligator clips on the ends - which was nice as it wasn't listed, and as I used it with a turntable it was perfect! My version has a red Boost button on top (not on the inside like other reviews have mentioned) but as others have suggested you don't need to enable Boost for most applications. To be honest I didn't use the standard tubes but bought these like many others: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BFJDTW0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o07_s00 'into the sockets but with little effort they work fine . Maybe stock tubes are a better fit, but if they're really inferior in quality and tone, I don't worry if one of these replacement tubes doesn't die on mine. The price is perfect - if I paid less I would be concerned about the quality. materials, but it feels good and is the perfect weight. The aluminum finish is beautiful and goes beautifully with my silver metallic setup. The only thing I would have liked would have been a dedicated volume control on the board (and possibly bass/middle/treble as well), but since I'm using it through a receiver that has its own audio controls, that's not necessary. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has a turntable using a receiver or amp that doesn't have a built in phono stage - it gives the sound dynamic range. just what you need to make your recordings sound their best!
