Restoring Memories

If you're over 30, you probably know what I'm talking about. You have a box full of pictures that you or your parents took when you were younger. You know, before everything went digital. Sometimes the photos survived, but more often than not they were in an album that sat too long and began to fade. How do you retrieve these memories? I recently found a box full of intact negatives from a trip to Russia when I was in high school. I didn't have many original photos, but the negatives were in excellent condition. This is where this product comes into play. One afternoon and a trip down memory lane later I have a beautiful digital collection of photos from my trip, I haven't seen some of them. Haven't seen or thought about it in years. It's worth a nostalgia! Now for the technical details. The scanner was well packaged and comes with everything you need to work except a memory card. This requires standard SD cards, which I had plenty of, so this wasn't a problem. It comes with a USB cable and can be powered from a computer or with the supplied plug. It has gloves to protect your negatives and various adapters for slides, 35mm and other film formats. I did this with 35mm film. Loading film was easy and you have some basic options to improve scan quality and color. I think I would use a photo editor on my computer to enhance some of them, but it's nice to be able to lighten up some of the darker images. Scanning is very easy and then you can just plug the USB stick into your computer and download the files. In my images you can see the photo I took of Red Square and the final image is a scan uploaded from my computer. He looks great for a 30 year old negative! I highly recommend this scanner if you have a set of negatives that you want to share digitally. It works great, is easy to use and really brings back a lot of fantastic memories.
