Review on VIVO Computer Monitor Articulating STAND V101 by Naomi Johnson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The drop in quality overshadows the addition of a double-jointed arm.

I bought two of these to replace a dual mount mount. Although this product appears to be a newer or alternative version of the VIVO Dual Articulated Single LCD Monitor Desktop Mount, the only advantage it has over its predecessor is the addition of a Dual Articulating Arm. VIVO seems to have made a number of changes regarding the quality of other parts. Below is a list of reasons why I think this product is poor quality: The arm mount handle is now a square brace with a rounded plastic insert that looks and feels cheaper than the previous version which was cast steel with plastic. coating. The VESA mount and arm assembly no longer has a screw permanently attached, but an insert screw with a large plastic thumb-turned head. Both of these changes mean that the VESA mount cannot be mounted as tightly as the previous version of the VESA mount, which used a standard nut and bolt. The newer VESA mount does not fit the mount as tightly as the previous version. Now my monitors shake a lot from side to side. The previous VESA mount is not interchangeable with the VESA mount of this version. This version is slightly larger and the previous version will not fit the new bracket. For me, that meant removing the old VESA mounts from the back of my monitors and installing new VESA mounts, which was annoying because I had to use non-VESA adapter kits to attach the monitors to the VESA mount . The table mount is no longer completely covered with felt, instead small felt gliders have been chosen. I've attached a few photos for comparison. I'm sorry if my terminology doesn't make sense, I hope the photos help you understand what I mean.
