Strong clip but no hold
The plastic hook on my 12 year old daughter's swim trunks broke so I used that to replace it. I sewed it on and it does the job. I agree that the clasp had notches or something that could catch the material instead of a smooth hook. Sometimes when my daughter is very active in the pool the clasp comes off because it is a smooth surface. Also, it's a thick plastic clip and feels very sturdy.
