Considering the size, the reception performance at 800 MHz is good. I bought it to pair with a Uniden 436HP scanner. That doesn't beat the performance of the Radio Shack 800 antenna. In fact, the Radio Shack antenna gives you a reception bar or two on top. But if you're only a few miles from a broadcast tower or radio source and want something unobtrusive, then this is the antenna for you. I will use it for my scanner in the office.
