When you use the "xset led on" command in the terminal, the backlight turns on. Of course, for some reason the "scroll lock" doesn't work to toggle it on and off, but other than that everything is spot on after turning it on. To be honest, I wasn't expecting an amazing experience from this keyboard and mouse combo, but I was pleasantly surprised. It performs well in every way, feels good, looks good and performs a little more than I expected. I would recommend this set to anyone for the price, it's a good deal.
