Review on YaeMarine Manual Shoe Mending Sewing Machine: Dual Thread Hand Cobbler for Shoe Repair by Linda Diaz

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not bad for the money, it needed some modifications to make it run smoothly.

Before I start, let me say that this booklet maker is *WORTH* the small investment if you can make some basic modifications to it once you receive it. I recommend it, it's just not great out of the box and requires some work to get there. Apart from that, there are some small issues that affect the score. I received my device a few days ago. I was a little unhappy with the number of dimples on the crank (front and rear) but this is a sand cast part so I accepted it as is. The stand was unusable. I had to make one out of a flat piece of wood. There were many rough or sharp parts that needed a little filing. I just hand sanded them with a standard smooth file. Took the grinder in the pin hole on the VERY SHARP plate above the spool and it cleaned up nicely. The needle inside was cracked and bent and came with fabric needles only. I had to remove some nuts and move some washers to the area between the two piston arms and the body as they ground metal on metal and were very difficult to move. awkward. After trimming everything, relocating the shims and sanding down the pin hole a little, everything started to work VERY smoothly. If you buy one of these, you'll have to do a little work before you can use it. . There are several videos on Youtube on how to modify it to be more efficient than factory. At the end you will get: - creation of the stand - replacement of the needles with chisel-pointed leather needles were completed in their workshop. - Making a threading tool for the main piston arm. All in all it's not a bad car if you have the time and ability to make it work.
