Review on πŸ”§ High-Torque Arcan 1-Inch Drive Impact Socket: Industrial Power & Hand Tools for Maximum Performance by Tom Motko

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Includes *almost* all SAE sockets and metric sizes;

Arcan Impact Socket Set 3/8" & 1/2" 5/16" - 3/4" 8mm - 19mm Do-it-yourself service and repair over the weekend means one set of the most common tools you need and without wasting time going to the hardware store or a friend to get the tool you are missing. This set is designed for those who do their job alone and need reliable tools while still working within a budget. My husband has tested several of these and they have not cracked or splintered under significant stress. This set has all the standard SAE and metric sizes except for the 5/8" head which to be honest was a huge disappointment for my husband. Another feature of this set is that two metric sizes, 10mm and 15mm, are available for 1/2" drive only. Given how common these two sizes are, my husband says it's odd that they come in metric sizes 12mm, 13mm, 14mm, 16mm and 17mm in both 3/8" drive and 1/2" drive but not 10mm and 15mm. It includes a 1/2" x 3/8" but it's only useful for 8mm and 9mm fittings and shallow SAE fittings, but since all deep sockets are SAE it's not particularly useful . That just means if you are going to use this set with an impact wrench it must either be a 1/2" drive or you will need a 3/8" to 1/2" drive.". I would give it a 3.5/5 if I could but since they list all sizes in the description I can't fully blame them for these quirks. I recommend with these caveats.

Pros
  • Hand Tool
Cons
  • Operating Speed
