I connected the 3mm audio input from the lighting controller to the RCA input on my amp. I have a horrible loading hum throughout the sound system. I had to remove. Otherwise, I assume there is a built-in microphone to detect noise. My setup is in the rudder of a pontoon boat. I'm not sure how well this will work unless I blow up the system. The instructions that come with it are terrible. That's why I'm thinking about the microphone. The instructions say nothing about how to set the sound.
