Worth buying or not worth buying?

Before I start this review, a little disclaimer: I own my own IT business and have over 25 years of computer experience. I am also a reseller for Dell, Lenovo and HP. Now we come to the assessment. As far as this device (Dell 7010) is concerned, I would first like to say that these are very good devices. Originally shipped with Windows 7 Pro as they are workstations. They've upgraded (obviously from the seller) to Windows 10 Pro, a larger 2TB hard drive and supposedly 16GB of DDR3 memory. Everything seems ok? Not right! Above all. I don't know if the seller is a licensed and certified Microsoft computer repair technician. My first guess is no. The supplied description sheet states that the COA (Certificate of Authenticity) is on the outside of the device. Actually it doesn't exist. As a Microsoft Certified Restorer, this is a must. Second, memory. Even though it says 16GB and you get 16GB, it just doesn't work. These machines have 4 dimmed memory slots and 3 are in use. 2 has 2 sticks of 4GB and 1 has 1 flash drive of 8GB. Well, such an installation will not work, and there will be no POST machine - there is no video. The reason is that these machines will not work with 3 DIMM slots as this is considered dual channel mode and all DIMM slots must be occupied to work properly (when using more than 2 memory cards). 3 sticks included. All 3 were from different manufacturers. I've had Hynix, Crucial, and another that had no brand at all. And on top of that, the 8GB stick didn't even work. He was dead. In this regard, the seller owes me either 1 flash drive of 8GB each or two flash drives of 4GB each. Third, cosmetics. For looks I would give it a 2 which is generous. Well packaged, thanks for that. But the inside was disgusting. First, to the untrained eye, you wouldn't notice a loose screw rattling around and could cause a short. There was a lot of dust but there was no vacuum cleaner in the shop. In general, the computer works. now since i fixed it. The installed software that is not required is the VLC player, Java 8, CCleaner and Open Office. While some appreciate it, it's better to let the buyer install it if they want. Regarding installed software that never came with the device when it was new or was NEVER meant to be installed, there were 2 things. Keep in mind that this is a CPU with integrated graphics, so there was no need to install BOTH AMD and NVidia graphics drivers. As far as cost goes, this device wasn't even close to $240 in my opinion. On a good day maybe half. I bought for a business client and thought the price would be worth it. But in the end I feel like I got burned. And the last note: Neither the BIOS settings nor the date and time were saved in my device. Only when I found out that the CMoS battery was dead did I replace it with a new one and the problem was gone. If the seller would like to discuss this with a professional in person, I would be happy to do so. However, based on the above, I recommend that you look elsewhere if you are looking for a refurbished device.
