Review on Samsung DVDM301 DVD M301 DVD Player by Macaiah Arreola

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best value for money

I did a lot of research before buying a DVD player because I craved all the fancy features but couldn't afford the best player. It has some great next level features for a very low price. The video outputs are superior to almost every other player in this price range (at least when you buy them), which comes in very handy if you have a good TV that supports them or are planning to upgrade. (I bought a Sony Trinitron KV-20FV12 around the same time and am very happy with the combo. It's not flat, but it's almost flat and the picture is much better than similar sized flats that are $75 more expensive.) I think this device has been with me for almost a year now and I have never had the slightest problem with it. I highly recommend it and in fact I'm here to buy my parents for Christmas. Two caveats: 1> If you don't have a TV that can accommodate the better outputs this unit offers, you can probably get by with a cheaper one. 2> Sometimes I wish I'd bitten the bullet and spent the money on one of those players that come with their own surround sound system. If you have extra dough, choose this option.

Pros
  • Component video outputs for optimal video connection
Cons
  • Little things
