to its weight and maximizes the output of solar energy per unit weight. While there are quite a number of lightweight offerings to choose from, many of them have inaccurate weight misinformation. For example, the 30W foldable solar charger advertises a net weight without accessories of 540g (19.2oz), but the measured weight after purchase was almost 700g. Another 28w version advertises 21oz but was measured by OutdoorGearlab at 23.5oz. The measured weight of this 4-panel solar charger corresponds to the weight stated in the specifications (650 g / 22.9 oz). While the overall solar panel size is slightly smaller than my previous 3 panel solar charger, the solar output is greater in direct sunlight or under clouds. Its charge controller correctly handles scenarios such as moving clouds and shadows, for example after being disconnected due to insufficient sunlight, it reconnects the chargers as soon as the clouds or shadows disappear. Therefore, this solar charger served as a solid starting point for the DIY conversion, transforming my copy of this product from lightweight (650g / 22.93oz) to ultra-light (529g / 18.66oz).
