This was bought to use in Nerf wars. It is very functional, and works similarly to a real grenade. The mechanism, however, can be damaged if it is stored in the primed position, resulting in hinge damage, rod bending, and other failures. I was unable to fit full-length Nerf darts into the doors, so I recommend the purchase of Rival rounds to increase spread distance and kill percentage. You can fit two Rival rounds in each of the three sprung "launcher doors" depicted in the photos. However, the likelihood of a kill is pretty small. The grenade doesn't spread darts very effectively, unlike gas-powered Airsoft grenades. Very fun to use, but if you're looking for a supremely battle-effective Nerf weapon, this may not be your choice. However, when fitted with Nerf Hyper rounds, I think they will achieve a better spread. There is a "plug" at the bottom of the grenade which can be unscrewed, allowing it to be filled with Airsoft BBs or gel rounds even when primed.Overall, this item can be used with a variety of ammunition, but unless used with a smaller ammunition, there is no guarantee you will hit your target 100% of the time.
