Review on πŸ‘– High-Performance Motorcycle Riding Jeans with Armor for Racing and Cycling – Includes 4 Knee and Hip Protective Pads (L=32, Blue) by Vincent Bain

Revainrating 2 out of 5

No "riding " jeans - (certainly no "race "!)

These are just regular demino jeans with two extra pockets (on the knees) for a soft foam insert and two thin, dangling mesh pockets. Each thigh is designed to hold a piece of standard 1/4 inch thick foam rubber. Jeans are not reinforced in any way and are not folded down the middle. The fabric is no different from the trendy jeans you can buy elsewhere. I won't test their seam strength or abrasion resistance because I'm returning them, but I suspect given their veiled country of origin and ever-changing "brand name" they won't pass those tests. feels very soft and thin to me I was expecting the knee pads to be real hard armor (certainly not a D30 at this price point) but these pads are little better than a kitchen sponge on your knees. Do you know these styrofoam squeeze balls are given away for free by companies with their name on them? The same stuff. The holes serve no purpose other than to make it look like protective gear. In the meantime, I can guarantee hip pads won't do anything for you if you fall. Too thin and hard. It is more suitable as a reinforced tool liner or garbage box. In short, no protective armor is actually designed to protect the human body from impact. Considering jeans are not abrasion resistant...then the armor will be exposed almost immediately after impact and it will also crumble from friction and stress. Is it better than wearing shorts on a bike? Do not doubt! But don't be fooled into thinking they'll protect you from a serious accident after a low-speed crash (or other fall). You might as well just wear one of your favorite jeans. These are "glorified" jeans that offer nothing compared to a pair of skinny, stretchy fashion jeans - except knee pockets and a "safety gear" look because you can slip in a few cheap padding here and there. I rated almost 1 star. because I think they are potentially more dangerous than regular jeans if they give the wearer a false sense of protection. But as long as you understand what they really are, they might add *some* value by demineralizing them and completely covering your legs in *some* padding. Therefore: 2 stars. From what I understand they can be great garden jeans.
