This magnetic adapter is exactly what I need. Many competitors receive negative reviews due to insufficient magnet strength. The power cord puts pressure on the magnet and when the computer is on your lap, the cord falls off. I'm typing this on my MacBook in my lap and the magnet is holding great. I purposely tripped over the cable and it detached from the computer without the computer moving. I backed up my computer to an SSD and the data transferred perfectly. I don't have a way to measure the baud rate, but it seemed fine. The adapter does not block the port next to it (see photo). If you connect the cable to the adapter from the front of the computer, the adjacent port will be blocked. When the adapter is connected from the back of the computer, the adjacent port is not blocked. However, whether it can be used depends on the USB-C port used. The Apple connector fits into the adjacent connector, but some other connectors with a wider connector may not fit (see photo). The power cord can be plugged into the back or front of the computer (see photo).
