I bought the i3 model with 8GB RAM for about $475. I really wanted i5s but they aren't available yet, at least not on Revain. I don't think it would have made much of a difference, and I'm certainly glad I didn't spend over $700 on an i7 model. It's not like there's something wrong with the smallest box and it fires fast like a rabbit, flows like a luxury liner, but I haven't found an app that really wows me yet. in particular, multimedia applications for video playback and management. It's like being technologically thrown back 10 years. with VLC and GOM players unable to do some of the simplest things I could do before. I mean, if you're designing something just for online media, why not help your app designers customize it? BUT ---- There are many things I like. The small size and fewer cords needed really help, also in relation to the fact that I can just bend down and unplug or plug in a plug or other cord. Instead of reaching under the table, pulling out the tower and getting enough light in to figure out where to put what. Oh good. I like that it's very easy to start and will update immediately (if needed) when it's on. Maybe I'm missing something, but my Asus M32 i5 sits next to me and doesn't have these issues. Google? What's happening? Both of my machines are made by Asus and use direct Google software. Streaming from Google source. So? Chromebox is absolutely silent, works cool as a cucumber. blows some heat out of the vents when I'm streaming 4K, but not bad at all. Everything was easy to set up and easy to learn. It's just not all I want. We will get better apps when designers understand there is a difference between Android phones and Chromeboxes/Chromebooks. and maybe someday we'll have real games too. that would be nice. But for now I will continue to use my TWO systems side by side and wear out the carpet by rolling the chair back and forth. Peripherals: Logitech Comfort Wave wireless keyboard, Logitech wireless mouse, Samsung 28" UHD monitor, powerful Panasonic audio system. , plus a tiny 1TB Toshiba external hard drive that I'd like to record 4K home videos on, but still didn't do anything with it. which blasts usable Wi-Fi 70 meters in all directions. The audio sync problem was narrowed down to my expensive Sennheiser Bluetooth headset which I use all the time. This headset works great on my phone and my computer. My only workaround for syncing is not to use headphones on the chromebox.I could try a different headset but I certainly wouldn't need it.related because the other guy who was struggling with it was called an idiot. And I forgot to mention that I have to click links many times to get any response other than a popup telling me how the li nk is called. Hm? I bought two new mice to fix this problem but both have the same result. Sometimes they work with a single click, but it needs to be carefully centered on the box, icon, or photo. 3.5 stars and acceptance.
