Review on CloudValley Sticky Gel Pads: Gripping Pad [5 Pack] for Cell Phones, Coins, Golf Cart, Boating, Speakers - Non-Slip & Multifunctional Sticky Cell Pad by Daryl Fitch

Revainrating 4 out of 5

VERY sticky so think carefully about uses

Not really ideal for a lot of things that you want to stick on temporarily and take out regularly. I have a pad in my desk drawer (chipboard) and it sticks really well, but putting a battery powered mobile hotspot on it was a bad idea. The idea was to take it off the desk, and it's not heavy, so it seemed like a good candidate for a gel pad. Unfortunately, I couldn't remove it from the pad without pulling the battery out of the back of the device, and then it was very difficult to remove the battery from the pad without damaging it. I've had more success using a pad for things with a completely flat back and not pressing them too hard against the pad. It worked well for a pair of flash drives that I only partially attached and a small remote control. I was able to detach items as needed and reattach them as needed. If you need a semi-permanent attachment, I have no doubt that things with a slippery back will hold up well for a long time. Some of the items I was trying to use the notepad on don't work, but some other items work fine and can be attached, removed, and reattached multiple times with no issues. The pad came off the table wood surface a little when tearing off some strong sticking items, but didn't come off and didn't need to be pressed hard again. Only time will tell how long I can stick odd things on my notebook, take them out, and stick them back on before the notebook has to be taken off the table and washed up for reuse, but right now that seems like a pretty distant necessity.
