So I purchased this dress in both a large and extra large based on my chest measurement (I am a 40" B/C so I fell between those 2 sizes based on the size chart). Both fit well in the waist and hips but I showed far too much cleavage for my comfort level in the large (I am 49 with a 6 & 9 year old so do a lot of running around and bending over) and was unable to pin it where I wanted it because the fabric wouldn't stretch that far so I ended up going with the extra large. There is a snap that is included with the dress; it is much too heavy for the fabric and so actually pulled the dress down where I sewed it on so I had to cut the snap off and just use a small safety pin. I also used a safety pin slightly down the front leg so when the wind caught the dress it didn't open up so far up. I am an apple shape and thought this dress was very flattering as the tie comes up a little higher but it is not gathered or pleated so it does not give the pregnant look. I machine washed it in cold on gentle cycle and lined dried it and then ironed it so I don't know if it shrinks if dried. I really love the dress and have bought it in 2 colors.
