So I purchased this dress in both a large and extra large based on my chest measurement (I am a 40" B/C so I fell between those 2 sizes based on the size chart). Both fit well in the waist and hips but I showed far too much cleavage for my comfort level in the large (I am 49 with a 6 & 9 year old so do a lot of running around and bending over) and was unable to pin it where I wanted it because the fabric wouldn't stretch that far so I ended up going with the extra large. Ordered the size xl. I’ve gotten several compliments when I wear this comfortable, attractive dress. My only complaint is that I had to purchase a slip to wear beneath it, as the fabric is quite sheer, but despite this was still comfortable in warm weather. The chest area (I’m a 38 DD) would be a bit loose and revealing for my taste, but the slip assists with modesty. The dress does come with a snap that you can sew on in order to help with this. I am 5'6 and wear a 12/14. I ordered an XL and it fit but was bordering on being too small. I haven't washed yet, so I will definitely wash in cold/delicate and hang dry to prevent the shrinking others have noted. I wore to a summer "barn" wedding and was very comfortable. It wraps very generously so you do not have to worry about your upper thigh being exposed as the models and some customers pose. I could walk freely without my legs exposed.
