So far so good?: Inside

It's hard to write a PSU review. It works or not. I confess that when I bought this PSU (Appevia ATX-PR800) I really felt a budget deficit. I just couldn't shell out another $120-$150 for a better brand. So I bought a 3 year warranty for $65. Honestly, if you can last three years, it's probably worth it, right? This is a good, reliable device. It's absolutely silent. Running a mid-range gaming PC based on the 9700K and 1600 Super is no problem. For the price, it's definitely worth noting that it's Gold certified, so it shouldn't waste energy and kill more trees than the others. Hey, we all have to think about these things, we only have this planet. It doesn't have flat cables, which I think are now preferred, but what it does have good sleeves and won't cut on the sharp edge of the case. Wonderful. It's not modular, so unused cables have to be hidden (I have a pretty big old Lian Li case that I still use, so that wasn't a problem for me). quiet Had to check if the fan is spinning, difficult to judge. The only real way to do this is to wait and see if it lasts. Given that I'm probably drawing less than 400 watts from it, I suspect it will be fine. Recommended for those of us on a tight budget.
