Carpets work very well. The traction spikes on the back are good and hold the mat in place unlike some other brands. One thing I'd like to see differently is a hole in the driver's side carpet for a floor hook. Keep it sealed as an extra drill or cut for each individual user. My car doesn't have a factory hook and I don't need or want to install the hook that comes with this mat as it doesn't slide. The hole is just a place for all the dirt and liquids I'm trying to keep on my floor rug, which is why I bought these rugs in the first place. There is a small ledge around the hole so a lot of liquid needs to rise over it, but still.
