This is one of those things in a closed ecosystem that we hate seasoned machine gunners using at home. Purchased to integrate Fanimation DC fans with HomeAssistant. Of course it integrates with IFFTT, which is now a paid service, and Google Home (don't even get me). The problem is that the developers decided to make this thing 100% cloud dependent. The fan control is programmed to call home over the internet to a cloud of sorts where you have to attach a phone app, meaning no local control. In addition, the app is unstable junk. Are you planning on lobotomizing that dumb controller or finding a way to flash it like someone did with old Sonoff switches before the vendor understood and opened up their API. Either that, or it might be easier to rip out the controller and replace it with an ESP module.
