There doesn't seem to be a noticeable difference in bass compared to cheap regular stock squares. The build quality is slightly different, the cable is a little springier than the regular version, a bit stiff. If you care about aesthetics, this version doesn't look out of place dangling from the front of your stereo, while the regular version looks like it's inside, below, just normally hidden. The volume is about the same for both versions. The volume is turned down on most phones. If you have an LGv10-40 with an upgraded DAC, these phones will play very well with higher impedance and the volume levels will be pretty strong. I only mention this phone because I have a v20 and I know the headphone output is better than most other phones and way better than bluetooth so I think a lot of people can mix these two devices. actually a little better with this version. I noticed that there isn't much high frequency noise, mostly just low frequency noise that isn't as annoying as high frequency noise. This might not be a good buy for people who have powerful amps and subwoofers. . Some people have mentioned that bass is cut off with any ground loop filter. I'd really like someone to do an active version of this or combine it with a small amp and a line noise filter. For example, something that plugs into a cigarette lighter has a USB output for charging phones, but only puts out clean power, no engine noise etc., plus an audio jack that plugs into your stereo and one for your phone , and enough application to compensate for the increased resistance of the ground loop filter.
