An alternative to mounting the Cintiq Pro 24!

I use this standalone VESA mount with a Cintiq Pro 24 and I think it works great. It's a great alternative to the much more expensive Wacom Flex Arm and Ergostand, which I think are ridiculously expensive ($370+ and $500). I find the Wacom solutions too complicated. All the Cintiq really needs is to stand up so you can draw and look at the screen. I really don't understand why you have to spend $500 on a mount that's free everywhere. I mean if you are looking to spend a lot of money on something purely for beauty, go ahead because this wali coaster is all you need. This standalone Wali VESA mount allows your Cintiq Pro 24 to stand upright for comfortable viewing and drawing. I'm amazed that nobody came up with such a solution. Every solution I see on the web is either the Ergotron arm, or the expensive Wacom Ergostand, or some sophisticated electrified prototype product called the Xoot. I don't understand why nobody has come up with a much simpler mount design, but this Wali Vesa standalone mount works great. I use my Cintiq so that the bottom edge of my Cintiq is raised at an angle on my desk. Easy. However, I've seen some people prefer to stand while working. In this case I can see where Wacom Ergostand or Wacom Ergo Flex would be better. The Wali allows you to raise your Cintiq all the way up by tightening the gas spring screw, but I don't think it will be as stable when drawing as the Wali stand will wobble if the bottom of your Cintiq isn't touching. your table. It also slowly moves down when you press down on the Cintiq with your pencil. With the Walli stand, you can use your Cintiq as a monitor and slide your desk back to free up space. Either way, you'll need to purchase a Wacom Vesa mount adapter. Overall, the total cost for me was $100, which I think is great considering you can spend $500 on a Wacom solution. Incidentally, the mechanism of the Wacom Ergostand is pretty much the same in concept as this standalone Walli mount, except the Wacom Ergostand doesn't wobble, but again, as long as your Cintiq is touching your desk, you shouldn't have a problem.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
