Review on πŸ“š Convenient Pillow Book Light: Rechargeable LED Booklight with Full Spectrum Lighting by Tim Jolivette

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Negative rating has a happy ending

I was looking forward to this reading lamp, but I am disappointed. The three batteries in their original packaging do not charge either in the box or in my charger (each for 6 hours). I bought some new batteries and found the light comes on but is so dim that it's impossible to read with it for a long time and be comfortable. We cut out a circle from the fabric in the "pillow" where the light shines through better. It's acceptable now, but I regret ordering this light. UPDATE 3/25/15 Michelle Egan, inventor and designer of this reading pillow, actually called me after reading my review. She wanted me to know how sorry she is that the product I received didn't meet her standards. I was of course surprised that I even got a call, let alone the inventor herself. She said that she tries to check every order before shipping as quality is very important to her. She explained that it has a simple, unpatterned fabric cover that offers more light output but diffuses the light to a comfortable level. She offered to send me one of these to test so I could try it. She did and I did. Although the flashlight worked right away, I charged it for a full six hours, which is the recommended time for an initial charge. It works beautifully and as intended. I welcome a call from an independent contractor with high standards who wants to correct a slip-up. That's true professionalism and a person you can trust. So I've changed my rating to a full five stars.
