Review on NUK Perfect Fit Replacement Nipples, Slow Flow, 2 Pack – Enhanced SEO by Nagasree Monee

The breastfed baby wants nothing to do with him.

I bought these nipples based on a review that said a nursing baby would be happy with them, but I've since realized that orthodontic nipples are generally a bad idea for nursing babies. I'm glad it worked for this mom, but most breastfeeding moms I've spoken to have found that orthodontic nipples don't work as well as regular nipples to reduce nipple confusion (at least in young children who are trying to learn taking a bottle). My 7 week old daughter is not interested in bottles at all but when I work with her I can get her to use a regular silicone pacifier for a minute and I can get her to take at least 30 grams less than a regular latex pacifier meal. (Playtex NaturaLatch seems to work best for us) but she won't try anything with an orthodontic teat (bottles or pacifier). Also, they're supposed to be slow, but I don't think they're slow enough. With Playtex NaturaLatch teats, their suction power determines the flow rate. They're slow flowing, but she doesn't have to suckle, and because she doesn't want to, she doesn't swallow, and we have a mess. This product has indeed arrived in good condition. So if you're not breastfeeding or have a breastfed baby who's willing to take an orthodontic pacifier without hesitation, then it might work for you, but don't expect it to deliver... something like a chest. (To see if your child will accept an orthodontic pacifier, you can try an orthodontic pacifier first.)
