Most general purpose lithium greases are colored white using titanium dioxide (an ingredient in paints) and zinc oxide (an ingredient in sunscreen) as pigments. They also dry out and crumble after a few weeks or months. Sta-Lube SL3311 is naturally amber in color and appears to match exactly what auto manufacturers use for fasteners, rails and other low stress applications. Rated NLGI#2 - "peanut butter" consistency - it actually feels thinner, more like NLGI#1.5, which is good for light applications. Easy to apply with a brush, swab or fingertip.
