Review on Antizer Flameless Dripless Realistic Batteries by Mike Palma

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm a real candle lover who loves this

. I was absolutely thrilled when I received them as I had previously fallen in love with the much more expensive Luminara brand. They each require THREE AA batteries, which in and of themselves aren't cheap, so I made a compromise and bought a battery pack from ten grocery stores. Big mistake! I have these candles in the "on" position so I can press the button on the remote and enjoy them every night, but after two short weeks the batteries died. At first I blamed candles, thinking they were just voracious consumers of batteries, until it dawned on me that poor quality batteries were the culprit. I'm a candle lover and was hesitant to buy the artificial version. However, not even I can tell the difference between their warm glow and the natural random flickering of the flames of actually lit candles. The guests are surprised when I magically turn them on with a small button on the remote control, not realizing that the candles are fake. For those with young children, with cats that get too close, or who want to place a candle in a place where a candle with a real flame cannot go (bookcases, children's rooms, outside in strong winds, or under a ceiling fan). are a great substitute. My only advice: When you unpack the candle for the first time, DO NOT throw away the remote control with the packaging! My first was a Christmas present and after unboxing I couldn't find the remote control. (Revain sells them separately, thank goodness). This set of three was a private purchase of mine and I knew to look for the remote as I unpacked it: the remote is VERY thin and small, not much bigger than a credit card, in this case it slid into a small cut out of the styrofoam protective cover. Also, don't forget (and I say it badly) from time to time to gently wipe the inside of the candles with a soft cloth to remove dust. Keep the remote control in a safe, convenient place next to your usual seat in your favorite armchair or sofa; mine comes with a bunch of TV remotes (grrr!) in a little container, reducing the tech clutter. Enjoy! and since each requires three "A" batteries, that's a lot of money. Up close I see that the Luminara version (original!) lasts much longer.
