This 1300 Pelican is very strong and well built. It comes with thick padding that greatly reduces interior space but protects everything inside from bumps, falls and moisture. I found that I only needed thin bottom and top pads to store my camera. With the lid closed, it is very safe. The only thing I don't like are the clasps. They are very difficult to open/close. A person with weak hands may not be able to seal and open the clasp. Hopefully it will get easier to snap into place over time. I haven't tested it for water resistance, but judging by how tight the lid is on the rubber gasket, it doesn't look like it's leaking in. It is clear that the value of this case lies in its strength. I bought two of these and found them to go well together due to the design of the ribs. I took off a star for the tight fit.
