We moved into our house about 3 years ago and I have decided that this winter (in Maine) we will use the garage for our CARS! I've done a lot of research on different types of garage storage. I decided to install these Rhino shelves for the 24ft back wall. I liked that 1) the shelves are hung on studs instead of the ceiling joists because the ceiling joists in my garage run parallel to the back wall which would result in the entire load of the ceiling shelf resting on the same two joists; 2) stud spacing does not have to be 16" center (our garage was supposed to be 16" OC but the builders had to have apprentices on site that day because in some cases the studs are off by as much as 1"); 3) Shelves are 33 inches deep to store 27 gallon containers at their short end; and 4) the shelves can be mounted as high as your ceiling will allow - in my case, our garage ceiling is 10ft and we were able to hang the shelves 7ft+ above the garage floor, allowing room for a workbench, additional storage shelves and 4 at the Wall Mounted Adult Bikes offers , all under Rhino shelves. Cutting a 2x4 is easy after lifting the metal frame - just measure the distance between the hangers. along the back board and cut 5 equal pieces of 2 x 4's for this section.
