Hope this review helps others. I didn't want to let this thing win because I'm a field IT pro. But I, like others, had an issue with the controller working as advertised. I could connect directly to my phone and then connect it to my router. After setting it to my router's WiFi, I couldn't view it in the app after connecting to my home WiFi. I could see it in my router so I knew it was connected. After two hours I found that there are two applications. Magic House and Magic House Pro. Both are free, but the original Magic Home doesn't work for some reason. I installed Magic Home Pro without deleting my old app and it installed right over it and all other ads stayed in that app's settings. But as soon as I opened the app, the controller was there in the device list. Once I managed to add it to Alexa in the app and for the most part it works. I'm using a single color LED, so just use the DIM setting on the controller. But I can't get Alexa to adjust the brightness of the light. No matter what percentage I tell Alexa to set it to, it always turns off the LED strip. I have to use my phone to set the brightness I want. But considering how much other similar controllers cost, I can live with that. With complicated instructions, not to mention two apps and the inability to dim via Alexa, it loses a star.
