Nice looking antenna, complex installation

I was able to get it working but it wasn't as easy as it looks in the picture. The 2011 Silverado has an oval cover that covers the antenna. The supplied small extension cable did not fit the thread of the antenna rod. The larger extension threaded worked, but would not fit through the oval hole in the cover. I had to remove the cover and cut out the inside of the oval so it could be flared over the large extension, then the smaller extension could be screwed over the larger one, and then the antenna could be screwed onto it.

Great gift idea for military, police and tourists past and present.
