Worst Dell monitor I've ever owned

After a few years with the 30-inch Dell 3007WFP, I decided to upgrade to the 27-inch Dell with LED for several reasons: the new one has more input lag, but a lot more connection options despite being a bit smaller is and a lower resolution. , it's much more power efficient - although it doesn't have a CF card slot, the slots and ports it does have are USB 3.0, not USB 2.0 like the 3007WFP. I've had several Dell monitors over the years and haven't had any issues with them, so I felt comfortable with this one after only reading two reviews - a bad idea. It arrived quickly with no dead or stuck pixels. But after several installs and reinstalls and rearranging cables and connectors, the card reader doesn't work as USB 3.0, and 2 of the 4 USB ports are also USB 2.0. I'm using the cable that came with the monitor, the latest drivers, and an updated BIOS on the latest Intel motherboard with Windows 7. Other USB 3.0 devices on the same ports work as expected. After some searching it turned out that this is a common problem and Dell does not offer a solution yet. It may require a hardware replacement to work, possibly a driver issue they are unaware of. Some users report that they cannot get it to work at all. For others, the card reader appears and disappears. It works for me and many others, but only as a USB 2.0 device. I expect that from a $200 untitled 20-inch LCD, but not Dell's second most expensive LCD. -------- --------------- 6-month follow-up: worsening. High-pitched squeaking occurred when viewing high-contrast images or large amounts of text on the screen via the miniDP connector and DVD from two computers. , at all brightness and contrast settings where the screen is readable. I spoke to Dell support and they agreed it was faulty and needed to be replaced, but since I bought it here and not direct from Dell I was told I would need to request a transfer of title which is up to May take 15 business days. If it's approved, they'll send it back. If not, I'll stick with it. It's from Dell. I would have bought them but they were sold out and some were here. If I had known the compromise, I would have waited.
