The collar and remote control are nice for athletes, but the nylon feels a little rough. It came fully charged. I turn it on every day about 10 hours a day and it still doesn't need to be charged after 5 days. Note that while it can be turned on, it's actually rarely used, maybe 2-5 beeps a day, very rare vibrations, and only one hit since owning it. Even less now that my pup is better at listening to verbal "nos." I used this on a 65 lb 5 month old Great Dane who suffers severely from toddler behavior. We have an invisible guardrail so he already knows that sound equals vibration and ultimately shock as he proceeds. He excels at swordsmanship and never tests his limits beyond tone. I bought this collar because of some training/behavioural issues we were having, mainly digging, chasing a kitten and blatantly ignoring commands. Beep is the feature I use the most and to boost memory. Beautiful, loud and attention-grabbing. We have a large property of 2.5 acres while the collar works remotely while roaming the outskirts. We have not yet tested how far it actually reaches, but we plan to do so. He was vibrated once for misconduct and did not repeat the infraction. I have shock at a very low level of 2 out of 16, he had shock from chasing a kitten and did not repeat the behavior again. We were very concerned about breaking this wish due to his size, he didn't seem to want to hurt the cat on purpose, just playing around. Unfortunately, its size means it can be dangerous for a cat to play with. I know all puppies are different but this great value collar is perfect for our big boy. Will be updated if problems arise.
