Review on SemanticGuide by Harald Patterson

Easy enough language makes modeling simple

The best thing about this tool is that it lets you model concepts within an RDF (Relational Data Format) or OWL file. You can include other files as well, but these are not supported natively by SemanticGuide. They have to be converted using another editor. Also, this tool does not support some of the latest standards like JSON-LD, Microdata, etc. These are not supported in its current version either, so you won't get any benefits from them. This is great for small businesses, especially those who have limited budgets for software development work. It allows you to quickly build models and also update them as required. I like that it's easy to use, the software is stable & reliable. I do not like how quickly i have to learn when working with something new. The product itself has a lot of features I don't know how to utilize yet. But it does what it's supposed to do. It can be difficult at times to navigate through as there are so many options. The learning curve for the basic commands is steep but once you get going, things become easier. This tool will help us organize/collate all of our data in one place.

Pros
  • If your organization needs guidance towards semantically enriched web pages then semanticguide should really meet their demands because they offer both conceptual modelling services along side searchable content management system which helps user find information easily
Cons
  • No standardization between different tools used
