Suitable but not as strong as the OEM filter. It is an activated carbon filter like OEM Denso. However, the OEM part has a hard plastic front and rear reinforcement strip and is made of a thicker material. This filter is so soft that I found it impossible to insert it without deforming the filter. I just removed it after it was in the car for about a year and I can see the filter was a bit crushed when putting it in. and put it back for now. This filter is much stiffer so it was much easier to insert. I want to be honest this is probably operator error, it just made my OEM filter a lot easier to deal with and I think the rigid frame is worth paying for. Be extra careful when removing the filter cover. The plastic tabs break very easily if you try to pry them off the wrong way.
