I think it's great that I no longer put my make-up sponges on the shelf between and during washing. I only have two so this was perfect for what I wanted. I also have a cat that loves to steal from her so it's great that she has a lid. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that it definitely doesn't dry out as quickly as I would have just left it on the counter (although that annoys me). Yes, there are side vents, but it's definitely a difference every day from when I didn't have this container. I still highly recommend this product as it saves space in my very small bathroom, eliminates the need to put it on the counter and provides protection from cat thieves.
