Handprints are beautiful. I've seen some reviewers complain about not getting wrinkles out of the clay, but if you massage the clay in your hands for a few minutes (as directed by the instructions) it's easy. The advice would be to flatten the wet clay into a shape on the paper you receive and then turn the clay over to the other side to get a very nice flat surface. Also, make sure your child's hands are very clean before placing them in the clay (it's easy to get a good open handprint when the baby is sleeping).
