Let me start by saying that I was terrible at making handprints. It's not the product's fault as it did exactly what it was designed to do and I would definitely buy it again. The kid and I just don't know how to make handprints; Footprints we had a little more success. This is a good product and does what it is designed to do. Your talent and level of collaboration are the only limiting factors.

Ink smudges and never fully dries. I'm sorry I've already used it on a postcard as I was hoping the postcard could be a keepsake, but there's no way to keep the marker without smearing it. I've tried making prints on other types of paper (including the cards that came with the sets) but they all smear at the slightest touch. If you want your prints to last, save yourself the mess and choose another brand.

If you give 3 stars it looks like only 2 pads arrived in good condition. I think two of the four ink pads I ordered were already wrung out at the post office. On two photos you can see what I mean, the third is how it should look like. I was able to use the one with less ink, but the one with the bigger blobs is a waste of time. Aside from being easy to use and no mess! I bought them for children's hand and footprints.

Contrary to many other reviewers, all four ink pads were fine when delivered. And to be honest, even when pressed, you can get multiple hits from the same pad. I used them for my dog tracks. I made one stamp for each of my two dogs on the cardboard that came with it, and then two additional stamps per dog on plain paper. So I got 6 good hits from a pad (might get more). To be honest I don't know why this product has such good reviews. I bought 4 stamp pads but was only able to get 1 good print. I got this for my five month old but the pad was too small making it extra difficult to fit her foot in the ink pad. Although advertised as reusable, I found that the second or third print looked more like a blob than a real print after trying one. So you're really paying for an attempt to get it right, whichever of your kids shakes, it's over. I would only recommend…

Ink pads arrived in perfect condition when delivered. Weight. Upon contact, the ink will smear on the pads on the plastic holder. The clips you get to hold the corners really help keep the card stock from moving when pressed. In fact, this means that every stain comes from your movements with your hand or foot.
