The mug is fine, it holds liquid without leaking when held upright and the slits on the side prevent even the hottest drinks from hurting your hands. However, I find that lids are completely useless 75% of the time. I think I've spilled more coffee on myself from these cups than in the rest of my life combined. I think I could open the lid of my mug with a piping brush. I just don't trust them to drink with the lid on anymore, now I just use them without the lid.
