Cute but poor quality

I ordered the first pair at a trade show that didn't have the squeaky plastic part, so I came back and got a new pair. I loved how cute he looked and what a squeaky noise he made every time my son stepped on him. However, the leather (?) started to peel off the front of the shoes when my son put them on for the second time. I wasn't expecting much from a $10 purchase, but only twice? I feel like I just wasted $10
