Update: company contacted although my return window had expired, they agreed after I sent photos, the unit is defective. They sent me a new one. This also seemed to work until I sent a kid to school with a mild fever but didn't know it. I contacted the company and they refunded me the money. So the device didn't work, but the customer service was great. At my sane level it reads 96.1. Which I see as I normally run 96.8 but at family members house my youngest said she wasn't feeling well. There were glazed eyes. We took the temperature of 101.5 and went home. A little later I thought of checking it again. I used a non-contact FACEIL thermometer and it read 96.6. She still has glassy eyes and is warm to the touch. Pulled out my previous old-fashioned thermometer.101.6. That does not work. Unreliable. Bought in November, the first illness in the household. Unfortunately I'm stuck with it.
