I received the UAE version which is different from the one pictured. However, as others have noted, the UAE version is in the same region (Region U) as the NA console, meaning they are basically identical except for the serial number prefix and the fact that Nintendo NA does not own the system can repair. I never send my consoles to the manufacturer for repairs (I do mine), so it's none of my business. During system setup, simply select the US for your region as usual and you're done. You can connect this unit to the original North American consoles for downloading etc. There is no difference.
