I ordered this meter for use as a hobby photographer/videographer. It includes a sensor cap and a basic instruction manual. I like his looks. It feels solid and the buttons are easy to use. The display is sharp and easy to read unless it's in direct sunlight. The sensor head rotates 180°, which is good, but 360° would be even better. It works well enough internally for reading constant light levels but not for flashes, it reads fairly consistently with slower flashes, not so well with faster flashes. I had to take several measurements and just average them to get the level. It also often displays OL, especially when the lighting is fluctuating. Take this meter outside and it works worse there. The sensor often burns out in the sun. And the display is very difficult to read in sunlight. Because the sensor only rotates 180°, it can be difficult to get readings you can see that don't affect your body. The recording function seemed to be the most unstable feature. It's a little awkward to use and sometimes adds max readings and then freezes? I used to maintain indoor gardens with artificial lighting. I see this gauge being useful for balancing lighting and showing when your lights are losing their brightness. All in all, for the price, it's suitable for those who are just starting out in video studio lighting and need extremely low cost and easy to understand and use. Meter. For photography, this is not useful for flash metering. Perhaps they could clean up their description to make the limitations of this meter for use in photography clearer.
