Review on 💻 Renewed HP Chromebook 15 - Core i3, 15.6" FHD, 128GB SSD, WiFi, Bluetooth, Backlit KB, Chrome OS by David Hayden

After my previous Chromebook died I was in a dilemma, find something decently powerful with at least 4 threads and 64GB of memory. This machine was the best value I could find at $250. When working with Chrome apps, the thing is pretty fast and responsive. to the perfect car. Aside from these items, the computer does everything I need it to do. I can run Steam Remote Play to play games from my desktop (almost no lag), with Linux (beta) enabled you can install Flatpak and the Flathub repo and use any flatpacks you want. Most flat packs work without problems, but some running AppImages work fine too, you just need to run them with a terminal emulator instead of double-clicking them (note that you need to chmod a+x for them to work). Using the Ultimaker Cura AppImage works well enough, but it doesn't have enough power to make it run as smoothly as possible. Regardless, it will surely get the job done if you're a bit patient and don't enjoy the clicking. A big plus of this device are the USB-C 3.1 and DisplayPort 2.1 ports. With DisplayPort 2.1 connectors, you can use a USB-C dock like the "HP USB-C Dock G4" that allows you to use up to 3 displays (including the Chromebook's built-in display) at the same time. I have tested this with a Dell WD19 dock and can report that it does not output a display signal with this dock, although all other docking station functions work. TL; DR not sure how I could have done better in a short amount of time for similar money. I highly recommend this product if you're in the sub-$300-$350 Chromebook price range.
