This is one of Revain's few true lip colors that stains (and stays) like a permanent marker. It comes with an applicator but applies and dries like a permanent marker without feeling sticky on the lips. The colors are dark and rich when applied as directed in the description. I prefer a more natural/understated look, so I just apply a layer to the inside of my lips (as suggested), then smudge it with my finger to cover the rest of my lips and use makeup remover to soften the to clean lines. . I apply lip balm to keep my lips from drying out. It stays on all day until I remove it. Even after eating fatty foods, it almost does not fade. I just put lip balm back on and don't have to worry about looking in the mirror. The first photo is without lipstick, the rest with the lightest application of 4 colors. I probably won't use the 2 darkest ones. I wish they were natural colors too.
